As the city of Berlin rapidly grows, it is little wonder that the outskirts are benefiting from a rising influx of population.
In Neuenhagen, a new residential area of single-family houses is being constructed directly at Berlin´s highway ring. Mostly young families will occupy these houses, providing the necessary schools and sports facilities. In this context, an educational campus with an elementary school and nursery, a school for disabled children, a secondary school and a sports centre is being planned.
The sports field is suitable for competitions. All facilities are grouped around a large central square, which promotes interaction between pupils and members of sports associations and provides space for small events. A stage will be installed, and groups of trees provide shade. The outdoor areas flow around the square and buildings with an organic-shaped form. Additionally, pathways run outside through a framed field of trees, which dissolve the transition to the rural surroundings.
